Learn with this interactive game some of the best known carnivals in the world. For this game you have selected:

  • Barranquilla Carnival: since 2003 it is considered a World Heritage Site.
  • Binche Carnival: its main characters, the Gilles, wear original and exotic feathered outfits.
  • Carnival of Cologne: nicknamed "the fifth season of the year", officially begins on November 11 at 11:11 in the morning, although it is celebrated in February.
  • Copenhagen Carnival: celebrated in spring, when the weather is most conducive. It takes place since 1982.
  • Nice Carnival: its most important manifestation is the Battle of the Flowers that takes place from the horseback riding.
  • Notting Hill Carnival (London): held the last week of August, born in the late 1960s, inspired by the carnivals of Trinidad and Tobago.
  • Oruro Carnival: closely related to Pachamama and Uncle Supay, it is a festival of indigenous origin in which the triumph of good over evil is represented by the "dance of demons" or Diablada.
  • Carnival of the Dominican Republic: the good Caribbean weather and the color of the costumes of its people makes this country's carnival one of the most spectacular in the world.
  • Rio de Janeiro Carnival: its origin dates back to the 18th century. Much of the party takes place in the sambadrome, in which the city's samba schools represent the different neighborhoods of the city in a colorful parade.
  • Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife: up to two weeks of celebrations fill Tenerife with color. The most important event is the election of the carnival queen.
  • Trinidad and Tobago Carnival: its first day, J'ouvert, commemorates the rebellion of the island's slaves.
  • Carnival of Venice: celebrated since the 12th century as a commemoration of the Republic of Venice on the Patriarchate of Aquilea, its characteristic masks and pompous dresses make this party one of the most important in Italy.
  • Veracruz Carnival: emerged in 1866 as a way to support the imposition of the Maximilian Empire.
  • Fasnacht (Basel): Each year a different theme is announced well in advance so that attendees can prepare their costumes.
  • Mardi Gras (New Orleans): of French origin, it was originally a party reserved for the wealthiest. Fortunately, today all those who wish can participate.
